Introduction

August 1 marks International Childfree Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the choice of remaining childfree. This special day started in 2011 as a way for people without children to come together and celebrate their own unique lifestyle. It's also a chance for those who are still deciding whether or not to have kids to be more informed about the childfree life and all its possibilities. Whether you're already living the childfree life or just considering it, International Childfree Day is the perfect opportunity to recognize how wonderful and rewarding this path can be!

Why We Love International Childfree Day

A

It celebrates personal choice

International Childfree Day recognizes and celebrates the right of every person to choose how they want to live their life. It empowers individuals who have chosen not to have children, and advocates for their right to make that decision freely, without judgment or stigma.

B

It promotes self-care

This special day offers childfree individuals a chance to focus on and celebrate themselves. Taking some time to focus on self-care - like getting in extra sleep and spoiling yourself with something nice - can be an excellent way to practice good mental health and show yourself a little extra love!

C

It supports community & connections

By bringing likeminded people together, International Childfree Day also provides an opportunity for connection. Whether it’s online or in person, be sure to take advantage of these chances to build relationships with other members of the childfree community!
