Join the global celebration of World Youth Skills Day and learn how to develop your skillset for a successful career!
This July 15, get ready to celebrate World Youth Skills Day! Originally designated by the United Nations in 2014, this day is dedicated to recognizing the importance of equipping young people around the world with the skills they need to succeed. It's a great opportunity for youth to come together and share their experiences, as well as find ways to help each other reach their goals. This year, let's take some time to recognize and appreciate all that our youth have achieved in terms of skill development and how far we've come since the first World Youth Skills Day was celebrated six years ago.
Look for an organization in your community that provides youth with skill-building opportunities and volunteer your time. This could be anything from a theater group to a coding club.
Look for a skill-building workshop in your area or online and attend it. This could be a photography, cooking, coding, or language workshop.
Gather up some friends and host a skill share party. Everyone can bring something they are good at and teach the group. This could be anything from card tricks to how to make the perfect omelet.
Organize a career fair for young people in your community. Invite employers, colleges, and other organizations to come and share their career paths and advice with young people.
Share your skills online by creating tutorials or video lessons on any platform of your choice. This could be anything from how to write an essay to how to code a website.
World Youth Skills Day promotes the importance of education and training programs for young people. Educating and preparing today's youth with the skills they need to succeed in our ever-changing world will help them to become productive members of society.
By providing young people with the right skills, they can have better access to job opportunities which can help to reduce levels of unemployment in their respective communities. Having a job not only offers financial stability but also provides individuals with a sense of purpose and achievement.
On World Youth Skills Day, young people are encouraged to think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas that can solve real world problems. This encourages creative and critical thinking, as well as empowering individuals to take control of their own future by developing skills relevant for their chosen career paths.
